Vail is a place unlike any other. I fell in love with it as a teenager, and I now ski its famous back bowls and stroll itscobblestone streets with my grandchildren. With this lifelong love in mind, I tried to recreate Vail's distinctive European stylewithin the walls of my 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo. SWISS STYLE: Turning a regular condo into an authentic Swiss ski chalet meant working with local European artisans. From thehand-carved headboards and hand-scraped wooden floors to the ornately painted doors and kitchen cabinets, I oversaw every detailand its artful execution. I also carefully selected every furnishing. It took me months to find a couch that was so comfortableyou could not sit there without falling asleep. IDEAL, CAR-FREE LOCATION: To focus strictly on the European decor would be to miss out on the other half of what makes our skichalet so great. Our location is phenomenal, truly in the heart of everything in Vail Village. Don't miss a second of Vail'sskiing or aprés...Both the gondola and Vail's finest shops, nightlife, and dining experiences are at your doorstep. Very few ofour guests bring cars, because they're simply not needed. (But if you do bring a car, The Wall Street Building offers freeoff-site parking just a 5-minute stroll though Vail Village to Manor Vail parking structure. LIVING SPACES: We have a fully equipped kitchen that's perfect for digging into pancake breakfasts before hitting the slopes. Ourwarm, cozy living area has a gas fireplace, Samsung Smart TV (one of 3 SmartTVs in the chalet), and artisan details like thehand-scraped antique pine floors. The chalet's 900 square feet of living space make this a roomy, comfortable option for groups ofup to 6. BED and BATH: Two bedrooms include a king-size bedroom with hand-carved headboard and a loft-style second bedroom. Access thissecond bedroom up a set of spiral stairs. Beds in this loft space include a twin bed and 4 Queen bunkbeds. All beds have downcomforters for a blissful night's sleep. Both bedrooms have SmartTVs.
